Title:Praise Him Type: Original Author:Ellie Note: Some sexual matter
***** Praise Him
The night was on fire as the battle went on. The loud popping of the automatic weapons sounded almost like firecrackers as they went off every second. The battle that had been going for three decades now, between the last humans and the mutants. The mutants, who were sick humans, thought themselves possessed by a higher force. Their messiah was a man renamed Dominus. A word almost forgotten to most, but not him. His brain, totally mad with the mutation, believed to be the new son of a god he created. Their mission, destroy every normal human on Earth. “Tony, you take eastside and I’ll take the west,” Jonathan said as he disappeared in the dark. The place the mutants attacked seemed full of humans. There were bodies everywhere. Some were mutating, as others looked so normal. Jonathan watched around him, gun ready. A small cry made him move to an open area. He watched the small lit area, as three mutants hung a man from a tree. Another held a small boy, who was covered in dirt and crying out for his father. He aimed shooting all of them, even the one holding the boy. He did not flinch, and ran to his swinging father. Jonathan went over, and saw the man was alive. He did flinch, thinking the things wanted to use the man as a pinata. The boy started climbing the tree. “I will get you down father. We can get away.” The man looked at Jonathan pleading, the pain in his eyes didn’t stop as the boy cut his father free. Jonathan helped untie the man. “Please,” he said once the gag was off. “My son is not sick, please take him. I cannot go along. I have started to grow a lump along my back. But it’s broken now.” Jonathan knew what the man had just said. The lumps along the spine were early signs of the mutation, which showed he was a dead man anyway. “Father, get up,” the boy said. “Please.”
“I love you,” he said to the boy. “I am already dead.”
“No,” the boy looked at him horror stricken and took a step back. “It cannot be.”
“You must do what I have showed you,” he said. The boy shook his head. “How can you ask your own son to take your life?” Jonathan asked. “It is our way,” he said. The boy dropped his knife. “I ca-an’t,” he said. “Don’t be a coward,” the man said angrily as he lay limp on the ground. Jonathan aimed his gun quickly shooting the man in the heart, before any of them could say anything. “It’s done now. Come with me boy,” he said as he continued his sweep of the area. He didn’t need to look to see if the boy followed, he could hear him silently weeping behind him. Did he feel sorry for what he just did? Yes, but the man was already dead with the broken back. Not even their doctor could have helped him, he was turning.

“Sir, look what we got here,” Jones said as they walked into a small barn. A naked woman was chained to the wall. Her perfect long pale blond hair fell around her, veiling most of the top of her body. She looked at the men with relief. “It’s about time. Those mutants were going to infect me,” she said quiet sure of herself. Randal walked in following Jones. “Well it’s not everyday we find something like this, do we?” He stalked over to the woman looking her over. “Almost perfection,” he said. “Almost,” she said. “You are looking at one of the rarest things on Earth.”
“Is that so?”
“I’m an untainted woman,” she said nose in the air. He grabbed her chin hard. “And how do we know that?”
“Check for yourself,” she said not frightened by his hard grasp. “Jones, unchain the girl and take her to the cart,” he said. “Yes sir,” he said. “I think we’re about done here. I had wished Dominus would’ve been here. We have certainly wiped out most of his people this winter alone.” He saw Jonathan and the boy. “Johnny boy, what have you found yourself?”
“His father was killed by mutants, so I saved him sir,” he said. The boy knew he was lying but kept quiet, still upset. “And your name boy?” Randal asked. The boy said nothing. “Whatever, send him to the line-up,” he said turning to watch Jones take the girl to the truck with the rest of the supplies they salvaged. “He’s only seven. You can’t put him in line-up,” Jonathan said. Randal turned his angry hazel eyes on him. “Do you challenge me John! Must I remind you who is in charge here. I said, put the boy in line-up.”
Jonathan took a deep breath. “No, I won’t. He’s only seven.”
“Did that stop our fathers from doing what they did? We can only be sure of ourselves. The boy could be mutating as we speak.”
“Can we have the doctor check? Randy he’s a little boy,” Jonathan said. “You call me by my child name in order to think it will soften me up. Take the boy, but you’ll be charged for disobeying me.” He walked over and got into his own car. Jonathan helped the boy into the truck. Another guy got in behind him, gun ready. “Randal said I was to shoot if you acted up,” he said with a sly smile. “Beats staying here and cleaning up.”
They watched as the rest of the survivors were lined against a wall, the cleanup crew lined up shooting them. The boy gasped burring his head into Jonathan’s arm as the truck started moving.

Genesis sat on the oversized couch listening to the doctor. He was rattling on about something, but her mind was uneasy. Mostly on Randal. She moved her brown curls behind her shoulder as she rose from the couch. She went to the large mirror, a favorite of the doctors and looked at her reflection. Her hazel eyes seemed more blue because of the cerulean shirt she wore. They looked worried even too her. She placed her hands palm down on the heavy wooden table under the mirror. She looked down, trying to clear and calm herself, again she looked at herself. It didn’t work. “I see you have other things on your mind,” the doctor said. She turned, her black skirt moving with her. “Yes, I’m sorry,” she said. “What’s wrong?”
She came back to the couch and sat. “Do you notice a change in Randal?”
His brown eyes looked down. “We can’t talk about this,” he said lowering his voice. “We can be punished.”
“He’s not here, and he wouldn’t harm us. You are his only doctor, and I am,” she rolled her eyes. “Whatever. He seems to have changed.”
“Power corrupts. You know that.”
She looked to the window. “Like it did my father. He too wanted to destroy Dominus.”
“It drove him mad,” the doctor said packing his old wooden pipe. The doctor had no name, was given one, but everyone called him doctor. He was bald except for a little puff of grey on the back of his head. He was a short man, only standing five feet tall. But then again Genesis stood five-ten, so mostly everyone looked shorter then her. He was very smart, and new more then any man. He even knew of the old ways. He would tell her tales. The sound of engines made her get to her feet and go over to the window. She looked down as the men got out. She saw Randal, and her eyes darted around. A woman. Was it possible? She watched. She was naked, blond and very beautiful. She crossed her arms holding her elbows, frowning. She then saw Jonathan and a small boy. One man walked behind him, gun pointed at his back. The door opened. She turned angry. “Did I not tell you to knock!”
Conroy looked, face plain. “The doctor is being asked for.”
The short man got to his feet. “I feel I have some work to do,” he said. “I must get my bag.”
“I’ll come along,” she said walking to the door. Conroy put his hand out blocking her. “The doctor is going below. You know you’re not allowed to go.”
“Fine. I have other things to do,” she said brushing past him. He started after her. She got into the elevator, and the doors closed before he could get in. She gave the dented doors a small smile as the elevator took her down 13 levels. They only took refuge in giant hotels, Randal enjoyed them more. On level one she walked to the holding area. Jonathan sat with the boy. The guard looked at her worried but holding still. “Jonathan, who’s that you have there?”
He came to her, wrapping his hands around the bars. The boy followed. “He hasn’t told me his name.” He showed no sign of panic, but she knew he was. “How much trouble are you in?”
“Enough to get me killed.”
“Dammit, Jonathan. I’ll do what I can,” she whispered. She walked to the main office. And pushed through the door guards, going in. Randal sat at his desk looking down at a map. He was talking to some of his captains, Jonathan should have been there. He looked up, and smiled. “Genesis, you should be up in your room.”
“I wish to talk to you,” she said. “Go on,” he said. “Alone please,” she said. “That’ll be all tonight guys,” he said. She watched them leave and walked to the desk. She walked behind him looking down at the map. “It looks like we’re going to be leaving soon.”
“He’s not in this state, or we’d found him by now.”
She walked over to the side and slid on the desk. “What happened with Jonathan?”
“He disobeyed me.”
“But he found something,” she said. “A boy. Maybe you should have talked to him. Maybe you could have given him to me as a gift. I do get lonely, and a child, a healthy child. I could dress him like my very own doll. Did you not think he meant for you to give him to me as a gift?”
Randal looked at her puzzled for a few seconds. “But why do you want a child?”
“Like I said a lifelike doll. You do leave me alone all day, and I have only the doctor to keep me company. He’s a very old man.”
“But I will find you a cat.”
She looked down at him. His brown hair was cut short to his head. His army fatigues needed cleaning. She pouted. “It’s not fare, you get a woman and I get nothing. I want the boy, are you really going to deny me that much pleasure?”
He looked at her face. “No. No. If the doctor says he’s okay he’s yours. But you have a servant,” he said touching her leg. “Conroy? Do you know he looks at me like meat. I fear for myself sometimes.”
“Does he?”
She nodded. “He’s very rude to me to. Do you plan on executing Jonathan?”
He nodded. “I do.”
She got up. “And me next?” She asked walking to the map on the wall. She let her fingers play along the surface, until they stopped on California. He got up and went to her. He stood behind her, not touching her. “What do you mean?”
“You found a girl. She’s very pretty. When will she take my spot. Will you have me shot and fed to the pigs and dogs?”
He turned her so she was looking at him. They were the same height. “How can you say that?”
She reached out holding his face. “Yet you leave me with a man who frightens me as you go off on your missions.” He closed his eyes at her touch. “I know. Why not make Jonathan my new guard?”
He opened his eyes looking down at her. “The men will think it’s a sign of weakness.”
“It is not weakness, because he will be nothing but my servant. That’s being lower then anything. You know that. That’s a big punishment, and I’ve never been frightened around him.” She touched his face. He put his hand over hers. “How much does Conroy frighten you?”
“Very much. I fear for not only my myself, but my safety.”
“I can’t live with myself if you spend all day frightened.”
“Very,” she said. “But why tell me now?”
“I was afraid you’d be angry at me for telling you,” she said looking down. Fake tears glittered her eyes. “Oh,” he said. “Come now. I could never be angry at you. And the girl would be a breeder nothing more. You know I’d never let anything happen to you.”
“So I can have the boy and Jonathan?”
“Yes.” He went to the door. “Come with me.”
Conroy was at the door. “Sorry sir, she got away from me,” he said. Genesis grabbed Randal’s arm tightly showing fear, she could be a great actress if she wanted to be. He walked her over to the holding cell. “Jonathan take the boy to the doctor and then you will be assigned to be Genesis’s new door man.” The guard let him out. He took the boy down to the basement without a word. “Sir, what about me?” Conroy asked. Randal had his pistol out in a blur and shot one shot. Conroy’s body crumpled to the ground. Blood tinkled from the hole between his eyes. Genesis did not make a noise, but her eyes looked away. Randal took her hand. “No fear,” he said and kissed her forehead. “You should get some sleep, and think of packing. We might be leaving in a day or two.”
She nodded. “Okay.”
She waited for Jonathan, it seemed like hours. He finally knocked. She let them in. “I had him cleaned, but he’s still not talking. The doctor says he’s in shock.”
She took the boy’s hand. “Come along,” she said. “You look tired. I have a nice bed ready for you. Maybe after a good sleep and some food you’ll talk.” She led him to a small room connected to hers. She tucked him in to the bed. “You’re safe. If you do need anything I’m in that room,” she said pointing. She left the door open and walked back into the living room of the suit. “Thank you, Genesis,” Jonathan said as he opened the door. “Close it please.” She went to the couch. “He’s getting brain fever,” she said. He sat beside her. “Don’t let him hear you speak that. I don’t think I can save you from him like you saved me.”
She gave him a small smile. “You’ve been our friend since we’ve been children. One little thing, and he wants you dead.”
“Oh I almost forgot,” he said sticking his hand in his pocket and bringing out a small packet. “Oh I forgot to ask him,” she said taking the small packet and looking inside. “Why are you using them?” he asked. She looked at him as a real tear fell from the corner of her eye. “Its not for me.”
Jonathan’s hands formed fists. “What’s he done?”
She shook her head. “Stay at the door and ignore anything you hear. I saved you once, I don’t think I can do it again.”
He got up. “Maybe,” he stopped. “We should leave.”
“I’ve been thinking about it.” The clock chimed. She got up and went to the bar. “You need to get out. He nodded and left. She got a clean glass and poured the contents of the package into it, and poured in some milk. She stuck it in the microwave. It beeped as the door opened. Randal walked in throwing his jacket on the couch. “Is that for me?” he asked. She placed it before him on the bar with a smile. “You know it is.”
He drank it down in three gulps, and smacked his lips. “I love fresh hot milk. Come,” he said grabbed her hand greedily. “Let me check on the boy,” she said as she walked into the other room. He was fast asleep. The doctor must have given him something to sleep. She walked out keeping the door open. She went into the other room, which was Randal’s. She sat on the end of the bed, and watched him come in. He threw off his shirt, baring short brown chest hair under a massive chest. She knew he could bench-press at least three-fifty. Most women would have been impressed, if there were many left, but she wasn’t. He jumped on the bed, he pat the empty side. Sadly, she lay down beside him. “You’re pleased with the boy, my love?”
“Yes, my lovely one,” she said. He laid his head on her chest, rubbing his head in a little. “You could love me. But I’m so tired. I don’t understand why I get so tired when we get this far.” He yawned. “You do love me?”
She ran her hand over his head. “Of course I love you. I will always love you,” she said. The drug had taken its hold, and he was already dead asleep. She got out of the bed, he didn’t stir. She closed the door, and went to the main door. Jonathan was quiet as she closed the door, and leaned against it. She started shaking, and then started to cry. He took her in his arms. “He’s sick, Johnny,” she said in a whisper. “What’s he done?” he asked supporting her. “Come with me,” she said slipping from his arms, and led him to another room. The main room was empty, but full of books from the city library, he had helped bring them up. Her and the doctor enjoyed reading. She led him to the bedroom of the suit, it was her get away. The big bed had on clean sheets, but the covers were messed up. She sat on the bed. “Have you ever had a hot shower?” she asked. “We don’t get those privileges,” he said at the door. “There’s the bathroom,” she said pointing to the door. “I need to check on the boy.”
She got back up, but he didn’t move. “What has he done?”
“Take the shower,” she said and slid around him. He went into the bathroom. It smelt of mint and apples. He turned the hot water on, it took a while but the water came out hot. He stepped into the scolding water, after he had gotten out of his cloths. It felt wonderful. He picked up her apple shampoo and washed his hair. He must of stayed in there for an hour. He turned off the water, grabbing a clean towel, and wrapping it around his waist. Genesis walked in, flushing a little noticing him almost nude. “These should fit,” she gave him some clean cloths. When he had dressed he walked back into the bedroom, where she sat on a chair reading. She had changed into pajama pants and a thick dark green robe. She looked at him and smiled. “Sit,” she said her eyes going to the other chair. He did. “How did you like it?”
“It was the best thing ever,” he said. “You smell like my shampoo,” she said putting her book down. “I hope you don’t mind I used some of it.”
She shook her head. “I can offer you the bed if you want. I’ll go back and sleep on the couch in the main room. I have to be back in the bed with Randal when he wakes up. It gives you six hours to sleep,” she said getting up. “What has he done? Gen, you have to tell me,” he said. She started to the door. “Nothing yet. I offer this to you Jonathan, because unlike Conroy, me and you are prisoners against our will.” She stopped at the door. “Me most of all.” She left him in the room alone. He went to the bed and laid down. He had a small cot in his room, which was now occupied with one of the men who had no bed. He had no belongings because they were always on the move. He drifted to sleep.

Randal sat up yawning. He ran his hand over Genesis’s arm. She opened her eyes. “Are you hungry?”
She got up. “Do you wish me to ring for breakfast?”
He shook his head. “I’ll have mine below, me and the captains still have more work to go. Call up breakfast. You’ll be waiting for me?”
She gave him a fake smile. “Of course.”
He bent in and gave her a small kiss on her lips. He put on a new shirt and left. She got up, and called down for breakfast for three. She went into the boy’s room. He sat in a corner looking at her frightened. “Please don’t do that. Come here,” she said putting out her hand. “I’m not going to hurt you.”
The little boys frightened brown eyes looked around the room. He got up, and went to her. He reluctantly took her hand. “You should tell me your name, or else I can name you. Maybe Clive? Ick no.” She sat him at the table. “Mark? Wally?”
“Brian,” he said in a small voice. “Brian. My name is Genesis.”
“Like the first book in the bible.”
She nodded. “Yes. It also means creation.”
“Why am I here?”
“I am protecting you,” she said sitting across from him. “From who?”
“Everyone.”
“I don’t understand.”
“Neither do I.”
ტტტტტტტტ
“Sir, the cleaning crew was butchered,” one of the men said as he poured himself some coffee. He spilt some on the papers covering his desk. “What?”
“The cleaning crew.”
He motioned for him to be quiet as he cleaned up his mess. “I heard you. I don’t understand how.”
“One man was left alive, well sort of. He was dying. But he said it was two. A woman and a man. Both covered in mud. They used dirty fighting, and had rudimentary objects.”
“Take more men and go through the place again. I want those two mutants killed.”
“The girl is fine. The doctor said she is clean, and very taken care of.”
“That’s good news. We have two women breeders, and both have still yet to produce children. This one might be the ticket.”
“She wishes to talk to you.”
His eyebrow went up. “Me?”
“Yes sir.”
ტტტტტტტტ
Dominus sat on a chair in the middle of dead bodies. His grey eyes were closed to the rotting world of his as he meditated. A fly landed on his hairless head, the skin dried and peeling. His sunken throat took in a deep breath as he opened his eyes. His blue tongue ran over his dried lips. How thirsty he was, the change had made them all so thirsty. He got up on wobbly legs and went to the door. He opened it and went out to waiting eyes like his. “My children, he has spoken to me. Would you like to know what he told me?” He said to his people. “Yes,” they said in a chorus. “Disease will be spread in the human fortress. A sickness like ours, but deadly.”
“Who will do such a thing,” a follower asked. “A child of ours,” he said. “Praise him,” someone said. “Praise him,” they said together. Dominus smiled at his own doctor. They had done the work, and now the pains in their neck will finally be dealt with. “Yes my children. Praise him.”
Randal walked into the room were they had put the new breeder. She had made a mess of the place and sat grumpily on her plain bed. “So you’re in charge here?” she asked. “I’m Randal.”
She smiled a bright smile. “Wow, sexy. My name is Rachel. We make a pair huh?” She got up. She had on a pink slip that cut very low on her chest, and fell just past her butt. “Do you think I can get another room. Its like a dungeon in here.”
“You get what we have to offer.”
“Wrong answer,” she said raising her hand to slap him. He caught it. “Wrong thing to do,” he said. But his eyes went to her chest. She noticed. She grabbed his other hand and placed it on her breast. He looked up at her face almost lost for a second. She let the lust fill her eyes. “You like them,” she said. “I-I ca-can’t.”
She pushed her body into him. “You’re in charge. You can do whatever you want.”
He pushed his lips into hers greedily. His hands felt along the silky slip, and found she wore no panties. He made a small noise as he moved her to the empty bed. His hunger ran wild, as her lips tore from his. She made a small moan as he lowered them to the bed. He ripped the silken cloth from her body as he moved his mouth over her breast. “You’re a man,” she said. “It’s so hard to find one.” She made a small noise as he fought getting out of his pants. “Be quiet,” he said pushing himself into her. He closed his eyes as he moved. She made small noises, not of pain, but of pleasure. He opened his eyes and saw another woman as he kissed the blond.

“You take the risk of getting caught having me here for breakfast,”Jonathan said. “Do not. He’s downstairs busily working. Soon they’ll all leave on another of his missions,” she said sipping her tea. “We should be leaving soon. We’ve been through this state, Dominus is not here.”
She got up and pulled a map out. “If I say I’m planning to go back to California would you be willing to go with me?”
“I would, but we’d never make it. Randal will hunt us down and kill us or at least me.”
“The doctor gives me a drug that he mixes from different sleeping pills. It makes him sleep for eight hours. If we leave quickly we would have a lot of space between us.”
“It’ll take us at least four days to get back to California, he could still catch us. Its silly to think of it.”
“No its not. Me and the doctor have been thinking. We can leave clues that we’re going north. He would go north, while we head west. It can work.”
“Why me?”
“We need a good man who can shoot.”
“You can shoot.”
“I was taught, but I’ve been held up in this place.”
“Where will we go?”
She rolled the map up. “Its almost spring we can go to the beach.”
“The four of us?”
“Yes.”
“Its silly.”
“But it could work.”
ტტტტტტტტ
Genesis made the warm milk. She had it done as Randal walked in. He put his jacket on the couch. He went over to the bar and drank his milk. He put the glass down, and gave Genesis a kiss on her cheek and went to the bathroom. She heard the shower start. She went to the bed and lay down. He came out thirty minutes later and lay down. He grabbed her hand and kissed it, before he fell asleep. He did that for three other nights barely talking to her, just showering and going to sleep. She was puzzled and confused. His sleep was troubled as he tossed and turned making lots of nose. He even cried out a few times, but never awoke. She didn’t know what was going on with him, but she was glad he wasn’t feeling the feelings he had felt.

Randal sat on the chair in front of the doctor. “Everything looks okay.”
“But I don’t feel okay,” he said. “Very tired lately.”
“Are you sleeping okay?” He asked even though he knew the answer. “Yes. But I have added a new, hobby, you’d call it.”
“Well that’s it then. You’re over worked. Maybe you should drop one of your hobbies for awhile.”
“It’ll be hard,” he said. “You’ll be fine,” he said. A week later he didn’t feel better. Everywhere he turned he saw Rachel. He yearned for her deeply. His body was going through withdraws, and there were times he would find himself walking to her new room. But he stopped himself. Agitated he went to his room. Genesis stood at the bar with his milk. He drank it without tasting it. He watched her as she mixed the fire in the fireplace. His eyes watching her like a wolf, her every movement and gliding up and down her body. He went to her, glass still in hand. He pressed his body against hers as she stood up. She froze. Her heart beat heavily in her chest, as she felt his body hard behind her. She swallowed. He moved her hair away from her neck and kissed it gently. “Come, my lovely.” He walked her to the bed. “I don’t know Randal. You look tired.”
“I’ll feel better soon.” He spun her, kissing her lips. She looked around frightened. The glass in his hand broke. “Your hand. Let me fix it,” she said. He didn’t care. His need was on fire, and he needed it to be quenched. He dropped the shards on the ground. “Its okay.”
He pushed her on the bed. She tried to roll away, but he threw his weight on her. She saw he was losing himself as she looked into his eyes. He was close to passing out. “Why don’t you love me?” he asked. “I do. I do love you,” she said. He had gotten out of his pants. She was on the urge of freaking out as she felt him pressed hard against her. Her mind screamed, this cannot happen! He kissed her hard and then passed out. She let out a small sob, and rolled him off her. She picked up the glass pieces on the ground, then cleaned and bandaged his hand, while her mind was in shock. She walked to the door and opened it. Jonathan’s eyes got wide at the blood covering her shirt. “What happened? Did he hurt you?”
“Its not my blood?” she said looking at her shirt. “Its his.”
“Did you?” he could not finish. She shook her head, and ran to the other room. She turned the shower on and climbed in. The water scorched her skin, but she didn’t care. She sat in the tub as the shower beat down on her and started scrubbing herself. Jonathan went into the room, and saw the bathroom door open. He peeked in and saw her sitting in the tub with her cloths on. He pulled her out. “It doesn’t work that way,” he said. She collapsed into his arms crying. “He’s sick. How could he think of doing such a thing to me?”
He looked at her. “All I can do is ask the same questions. You don’t give me anything,” he said. She kissed him. It started as a small one, but grew. He helped her pull the wet shirt off, and she helped him with his. And then helped him with his gun holster which was attached to his belt. He kissed her again. She pulled away. “We can’t,” she said. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be,” she said. She went to the other room and grabbed out some cloths from the dresser she went back into the bathroom. She kicked him out so she could change. She came back in wearing light blue pajama pants and a matching tank top. She went over to the bed and got in-between the made covers. “I’ll be outside,” he said. “No. Stay with me Jonathan,” she said beckoning him to join her in the bed. “My shirt’s wet,” he said. “Take it off.” He did and got in with her. “Hold me, please.” She rested her head on his chest as he wrapped his arms around her. “Do you remember when we were younger? Weren’t we a bunch?”
“Even though we were dragged town to town as our fathers killed the mutants, we had each other.”
“And your mother,” she said. Her own mother had died in birth. His left hand wondered to her wet curls. “Do you remember how she had spanked Randal for eating all the berries she had picked for a pie?”
“Yeah. When did it all change?” She picked her head up to look at him. “When our parents died. Your father,” he looked away painfully. “He went mad,” she said tears forming in her eyes. She touched his rough cheek. He needed a shave, but she didn’t seem to care. “Do you remember those last days in Utah?”
“How can I not. It was the last time I was allowed to be outside for so long. We camped under the stars. Randal was with father, and you came to keep me company. We fell asleep under that cloudless sky.”
“Its my best memory.”
“A lot of things were said under that sky that night.”
“And I meant every word. I still love you, have since you kissed me in Nevada when they set off all those fireworks.”
She looked at his blue eyes. They were not hazel, but they started as a light blue and got darker towards the end. She could have stared into his eyes forever. She kissed him again, very gently. Her kissed her back, hands kneedeling her back. She moved so she was straddled him. She ran her hands over his chest. She bent down to kiss him. He sat up with her now in his lap, and removed the tank top. He kissed down her neck. Their lips found each other once more and they kissed harder opening to each other. He turned her over, and pulled the rest of her cloths off. He kissed up her body. She ran her hands through his short black hair. “Hold on,” he said wiggling out of his pants. He kissed her again as she wrapped her legs around him. She bit into his shoulder as her body trembled with pleasure. Their bodies danced to a music only they could hear. He hugged her against him tightly when they were finally finished. “I’ve loved you too,” she said. “Will you leave with us?”
“Yes.”
Randal walked into the room on the twelve floor. Rachel sat at the couch painting her nails. She looked at him and smiled, her lips a bright raspberry red. She put down the polish. “Randy, I’ve missed you so much,” she said. His palms sweat and his mind buzzed. All he could see was naked flesh, not Rachel’s but Genesis. “I need,” he stopped eyes on Rachel as she removed the robe and let it fall to the ground. “I’ve missed you,” she said and flung herself into his arms. Later as they lay tangled in the bed sheets, Genesis twirled her finger in his chest hair. “I heard there is another. Not a breeder, but you favor her too much so you keep her to yourself. Who is she?”
“She is no one. I don’t keep her from anyone, but herself. I promised someone before he died I would watch over her.”
“I wish to meet her,” she said before kissing his chest. He closed his eyes, as she made her way down. “You can’t.”
She stopped. “And why not? Who is she really?”
“She’s.”
ტტტტტტტტ
“Dominus,” a servant captain said coming into his small room. “What is it? Do you know I am getting ready to eat.” His eyes watched the big black tom cat by the wall. His stomach growled with anticipation. “We have captured a man from their outpost,” he said. His eyes left the cat. “Bring him in.”
Two mutants covered in mud walked in dragging the man. He looked around frightened. “Leave me alone. I don’t want no mutation. I’m a good person really. Just a maid really. I wash, clean and cook.”
“He had this,” the servant guard handed Dominus a old tattered book. He opened it. Colorful pictures made him squint at first. He let his eyes focus on what he was looking at. “You do these?”
“Yes. No one knows, but I have this Polaroid, and well its easy to find film in old stores.”
He stopped on a woman, her curly brown hair framed her round face. Her hazel eyes watched with sadness as something the picture did not show went on. “Who is she?”
“That is Genesis,” the man said. “Genesis. How fitting.” He ran his finger over her. She must be, his mind whispered. She looks just like her. But so young, he could have his doctor mutate her. Use her. “Who is this Genesis?”
The man said nothing. “Well,” the servant guard said kicking the man. “Call in the doctor. That will get the boy to talk.”
ტტტტტტტტ
“Clear,” a man said his revolver in his hand. “I want this place burned incase they are in the basement,” Randal said. His mind lost focus, as his eyes did. His body burned, he thought for Rachel’s body. He wanted her even now as he stood so far away. He wiped the cold sweat from his head. It was under twenty degrees, yet he felt so warm. “Sir, are you okay?”
“Yes,” he said shaking his head. He wanted some water, he was very thirsty.
ტტტტტტტტ
“Brian its your turn,” Genesis said. His eyes were at the door. “Jonathan is speaking to someone.”
The doctor turned his attention from the board game to the door. Sure enough she heard talking. Jonathan and a female. She got up, and Brian grabbed her arm. “Don’t.”
A few seconds later there was a small knock, and Jonathan came in. “That woman they found at the place I found Brian came to talk to you.”
“Why is she up here?”
“She has clearance for everything. Her small bracecode says she’s on level twelve.”
“So close,” she said looking at the doctor. “Did you know about this?”
He shook his head. “I only check them if they’re okay. I have not heard of any woman being moved up here. Usually they’re in ground levels.”
“Jonathan what did she want with me?”
He shrugged. “She wants to talk to you.”
“Talk. Twelve level. Randal must have something to do with this. But if he comes up like last night. I might be in a lot of trouble. Maybe I should talk to her.”
“No,” Brian said grabbing onto her arm. “You can’t.”
“Why are you so afraid?”
He shook his head. “I don’t like her. There is something bad about her.”
“Randy my dear, why do you let her keep a boy?” Rachel asked as he ran his hand down the curve of her side. “She wanted him,” he said. “But what if I want him?”
“The boy is Genesis’s.”
“But what if I want him? Do you wish to make me sad?”
He pushed her away, and she rolled off the bed. He got to his feet in an angry storm. “You dare question me? I said he belongs to Genesis, so he is hers.”
She got to her knees. “But I don’t,” she didn’t finish as his fist socked her in the face. “No more,” he said and hit her again. His power being a turn on making him grow hard looking at the blood running from her nose. He grabbed a fistful of her hair yanking her up. She screamed loud and shrilly. He smiled and threw her on the bed. He fell on her like a beast, just wanting to get rid of the fire that burned through him.
ტტტტტტტტ
“Okay Brian. Everything looks good. Jonathan you can take him up,” the doctor said. Brian grabbed Jonathan’s hand as they walked from the room. One of the men walked with Rachel. Her and the boy locked eyes. She smiled even with her face covered in blood and all bruised up. He screamed loudly, and ran at her his small knife held tightly in his left hand. Jonathan grabbed him before he could get to her.
ტტტტტტტტ
“Tomorrow night we kill them. This thorn in our side. Once they are gone, the rest will fall easily. Yes, we will kill everyone of them.” He looked down at the picture. “Except this girl,” he said handing a picture to one of the servants. “Pass it around. I had a vision, and she is to be one of us. To kill her would cause a wrath unlike any we have seen. She is a key.”
“Praise him,” someone in the group cried out. “Yes,” he said his pruny lips twisted in a sick smile. “Praise him.”
“Praise him,” the others chimed in on cue. “Tomorrow night we attack, all ready up,” he said as he disappeared into his room. He had discarded the tom, for he had human flesh. How he loved the taste, much better then rat or cat. The blood alone, with its coppery taste slid down his throat with a pleasuring ease. He grabbed the flesh on the ground and ate. He ate and thought. Yes. Genesis. As his name meant something more then these feebleminded slaves could comprehend, so did hers. And she looked so much like her mother. A woman he had loved from a distance, as he taunted the father. As he still taunted them. But now he knew his seed of corruption was at work. His hands were not giving him enough meat, he sunk to his knees and buried his face into the corpse. His jaw worked as his mind thought.
ტტტტტტტტ
“What happened?” Genesis asked as Jonathan brought in the crying boy. “He saw that woman and run for her with his knife.”
ტტტტტტტტ
“Sir, there are mutants reported down at the 45 sector,” Jones said. “Can’t be right. We cleaned that area weeks ago,” Randal looked down at his map. His head throbbed, and he felt a little queasy. The doctor had said that the men were all showing signs of the flu. He hated being sick, he needed to see Genesis. She would make it all better. “What do you want us to do?”
Pushing his queasiness away he stood. “Lets go clean up.”
“Its dark sir.”
Randal looked at Jones angrily. “Do you not think I didn’t notice. But we can not let these mutants run over us.”
ტტტტტტტტ
“I wonder what’s going on?” Genesis asked looking out her window. “Randal usually doesn’t go scouting this late.”
Jonathan came up behind her and hugged her to him. “You look cold. Come to the fire.”
ტტტტტტტტ
“Odd,” the doctor said as he looked down at Rachel on his observation table. “Something wrong doctor?”
“I think your pregnant.”
She sat up, her hands going to her stomach. She felt it, and smiled. “Can it be true?”
“Might be. I’d like to give you a test.”
“Yes.”
Later on he looked down at his findings. Rachel was pregnant. Yes, pregnant, but also infected. “Oh God,” he said wiping his head with his handkerchief. This was something he had never seen in all his experiments. She was totally infected on the inside, but the outside was untouched. He got to his feet almost knocking over his samples. “The men,” he said out loud and was at the door before he saw the small shadow on the wall. Something crashed to his left, and he turned. “Who’s there?”
“You found our secret,” the mutated voice said letting out a wheezy laugh. The doctor wasn’t close enough to anything he could use as a weapon and carried nothing with him. “What do you want?”
“One more day,” the voice said. There was a crash behind him, he turned looking. The shadow grew. The mutant used a short pole and hit the doctor on the head. It smiled down at the fallen man and hit him again and again until he was dead. Rachel looked down at the bloody bag of meat. Her stomach growled. She rubbed it. She looked at the pole and brought it to her lips licking it. “Yummy.”
She smiled and then hit herself in the face with it. Her fixed nose broke. She let the pole drop to the ground, and started to scream.
ტტტტტტტტ
Jonathan sat holding Genesis before the fire. They were quiet as the logs crackled. His small radio went off, making them both jump. “Secure the women a voice said.”
“What’s going on?” Another voice asked. “Send someone to get Randal,” another said. “This is Jonathan,” he said talking into the little box. “What’s happened.”
“The doctor has been killed. The new breeder has been attacked too.”
Genesis sat down heavily on the couch. For a moment she felt as if she was hit in the stomach by something large. She couldn’t breath. What was she to do now? He had made sure Randal had never touched her, what now? Who could have killed her friend and mentor? Jonathan was on his knees beside her talking to her. She didn’t hear. He started shaking her. She looked at him eyes clouded and lost. “Gen, speak to me.”
“We have to leave. Without the doctors medicine how will I control him?”
“Its okay, Gen.”
She stared at him, her eyes clear now, but panic started to fill them. “He can’t. I will kill myself before he uses me that way. He’s mad.”
Randal walked into the hotel. “Where is Genesis?”
“She’s safe in her room.”
“The breeder?”
“In her room too,” the small guard said leading him to the doctors room. He looked down at the bloody corpse. His sickness was getting worse, and now he was so angry. “What the hell happened?”
The guards said nothing, just looked around frightened. “We heard the breeder scream, and ran in. This is how we found the doctor. She was on the floor crying. The pole over there is what did it.”
He looked at the blood covered pole. “The pole was the weapon, but where is the killer?”
They were all quiet. He took out his gun, and before anyone could shout he had shot all three guards. “I can not excuse this from happening. We are out a doctor.” He re-holstered his gun and walked quickly to the elevator. “Jones where are you?” he said in the little radio. “With the breeder. She is asking to see you.”
“I’m on my way.”
The elevator stopped and he got out. He walked passed the men all protecting the door. He opened it, and went in. He stopped, looking at Rachel crying holding some ice to her face. “Randal I was on my way to see the doctor he said he had good news for me.”
“What news?” He watched her look at Jones. “Leave us.”
He left. She looked at him. “I’m pregnant.”
His anger oozed away. “How?”
She gave him a small smile. “You know how. And its yours. I’ve been with you more then any other man. The doctor was telling me when we were attacked.” She rubbed her stomach. “Its yours Randy.”
“Mine,” he said.
ტტტტტტტტ
Genesis had her arms crossed, as goosebumps ran up and down them. She had Randal’s milk ready. By three in the morning he still hadn’t showed up. She opened the door, peeking out at Jonathan. He shook his head. “Where is he?” she asked him. “I haven’t heard anything.”
“Waiting is killing me.”
“Get some sleep.”
ტტტტტტტტ
“Dearest,” Randal said gently shaking Genesis. She let out a small yelp and pushed herself away from him. “You scared me,” she said as her heart threatened to escape her chest. “What time is it?”
“Its morning. I just came in to take a shower and check on you. Jonathan says you were up pretty late waiting for me.” He smiled. “I’m sorry I kept you up.”
“I was worried that something bad had happened.”
“Something bad has happened,” he said seriously. “The doctor is dead. He was killed, but something great has happened too.”
She pulled the cover up over her, cold. “Really.”
“One of the breeders is pregnant.”
Her face was a mask. “Which one?”
“The new one.”
“That is good, I guess.”
He got up. “Its great. Eat breakfast. I’ll see you later.”
“Okay.”
ტტტტტტტტ
“Jonathan,”Randal said as he left the room. “Yes.”
“I’m going to be a father,” he said clapping the man on the shoulder before he disappeared into the elevator. Jonathan rushed into the room. He stopped as he saw Genesis calling downstairs. He took in a deep breath. “You okay?”
“Yeah.”
“He said he was going to be a father.”
“The new girl is pregnant.”
“I didn’t know he liked the other women,” he said. “He never did.”
“They are leaving Master,” a short mutant girl said. Her ripped floral dress was covered in mud and grime. “We will wait until they are gone, and then we will sneak in. We will wait for them inside. We attack when they come back.”
“Praise him,” she said.
ტტტტტტტტ
Rachel lay on her back. Her stomach in pain, as she stared at the ceiling. A shadow appeared, as she rolled over on her side. “It’s time, isn’t it?”
“Yes.”
“Can I have the man. I have found him very fun.”
“He’s going to die.”
She sat up. “Why?”
“He has ties to the ones who aren’t affected.”
“Like the woman he hides at the top.”
“Yes.”
“I’ll kill her.”
“I warned you once, don’t make me do it again. She’s not to be harmed.”
“He’s one of us now, as is everyone in the place. But I just want him.”
“He is dead.”
ტტტტტტტტ
“Jonathan?” Genesis said as she went into the bathroom. “I just wanted one last hot shower before we left.”
She handed him his towel as he got out. “We can find someplace.”
“Maybe some people.”
“Brian is packed, and so am I.”
“Okay well we got to get going if we are going to get away,” he said. She turned and went to the door. She went to get Brian, as she walked into the room he was cowered in the corner. “What’s wrong?” She turned around. All she saw was something come towards her face. She awoke a few hours later. She sat up, her head aching. She looked around, she was still in her own room. A woman came in. They looked each other over. The blond placed her hands on her hips. “You must be Genesis. I’m Rachel. You are rather pretty. I don’t understand why everyone wants you. Randal keeps you locked away and now Dominus.”
“What does Dominus want with me?”
“I don’t know. But he did one thing wrong. He changed me.”
Genesis looked at the woman curiously. “What do you mean?”
She took in a deep breath and let it out. She turned and started going through some of Genesis’s stuff. “Do you know when you mutate, you become ugly, unfeeling, gross. His doctor mutated the mutation. So,” she turned to look at Genesis. “You see the new mutant.”
“You carry the mutation?”
“But I also harbor one more thing. I can have children.”
“Mutants can’t have children.”
“I can, and I am.”
Genesis sighed. “If you want to kill me, do it before Randal gets home.”
“I’m not going to kill you. I’m going to use you. I know what your thinking. You don’t want to be used. To bad. Because I have two things you like.” She turned her head. “Bring them in.”
Two of their own guards came in pushing in Jonathan an Brian. “Genesis are you okay?”
“Fine.”
“I already sent a messenger to get Randal, but even as we speak Dominus is waiting for them to return. I know we both don’t want anything to happen to him. Me, because I love him, you, I don’t know.”
Genesis laughed. “I so thought you knew.”
“Shut-up! Don’t laugh! I hate when people laugh at me!” She screamed and knocked a book over. It landed on the ground open. Her and Genesis looked down at. “Oh my,” was all she could say. “My father and his brother.”
“Twins,” she said. Genesis nodded. “It runs in the family.”
She picked up the book. “The woman in the middle is your mother?”
“Yes.”
“She looks just like you.”
“So they say.”
Rachel laughed. “I have it all right here. Dominus is going down,” she said. “Bring them with me.” She walked out carrying the book. Jones grabbed Genesis off the bed. “Watch the hands,” she said as he grabbed her.

Randal got out of his car, looking around. He would be killing people if Genesis or Rachel were hurt. He had his two guns on his mind when he walked in. His men followed behind him. He walked in, and all was quiet. The lights were out except one. A man sat under the light, well he was far from a man. “Dominus,” Randal said hands on the butts of his guns. “It was about time we met,” the mutant said. His minions spread behind him watching his men with their weird grey eyes. “So you’ve been here all along?”
“You’ve always been on my ass, lets just say. Finally I’m getting back.”
“Then let us solve this like real men, or have you forgotten what it feels like.”
Dominus got to his feet. “Boy, I was a man long before you were. And I can say you were never like your father.”
His hands tightened into fists. “I’m better then him. He was weak.”
Dominus laughed. “At least we can say we agreed on one thing.”
“Are you going to fight me or just stand there?”
“No ones fighting tonight,” Rachel said walking over. “Rachel what have you done?” Dominus asked. “I brought the girl, for his life.”
“No,” him and Randal said at the same time. “Yes. Or I will kill her. You want her infected anyways. Infected like you. Why not like me?” Randal took a step back. Genesis looked at him, pained. She looked at Randal. “She was going to leave you.” Genesis looked away. “But I’ve finally found out why you really want them dead.”
“Rachel give me the girl.”
“I can bare children Dominus, or rather Frank.”
Genesis and Randal both looked at the man. He looked at the blond angrily. “None of us can bare children.” “Your mutation has let me bare children. I am pregnant.”
He threw back his head and laughed. “You stupid retarded girl. Do you seriously think you are pregnant? That’s the mutation killing you. Its deadly. It eats your insides until there is nothing left.”
She shook her head. “No. It’s a baby.”
“Stupid girl. You’re messing up everything. Give me Genesis.”
“No!” she said. “You are no Dominus! He used to be a regular human just like everyone else. He said all he’s told us because he wants to get revenge!”
His claw like hands balled into fists. “Yes! I want revenge. My brother got everything, even the woman I loved. I can change that. I have another chance. With his daughter.”
“Oh gross,” Genesis said. “Your all fucking mad.”
“Did you not know all men on our side gets brain fever,” Dominus said. “I’m not mad,” Randal said, “I’m angry. Its like dutch.”
Genesis and Jonathan didn’t need to be told twice. Dutch was a game they played when they were kids. She elbowed Jones, he let her go with a oomph, and she fell to the ground. Jonathan did the same, pulling Brian down. Gun fire erupted around them. Genesis counted to ten, and then her and Jonathan were moving. She came to the dead body of Jones and took his gun. She let all the air out of her body calming her head, she got to her feet and started shooting. Jonathan was at her back. She looked for Randal, but could not find him. She searched through the fighting crowd of mutants and humans. She finally saw them. Dominus and him were fighting. Dominus was on his back and had pulled his knife. By the time she had reached them, he had already shoved it into Randal’s back. She shot Dominus. He was dead before he hit the ground, but Randal wasn’t. She fell beside him tears falling down her eyes. She used all her muscle to roll him over. He coughed up blood as he looked up at her. Using her sleeve, she cleaned his face. His hand reached up to touch her cheek, it came away wet with her tears. “You cry for me, my lovely.”
“Hush, my brave one,” she said. “I’m infected already. I never meant to hurt you,” his eyes looked so much like his old self. “I know.”
He coughed. “I just wanted to be a good brother. But I was sick. You kept me from my madness.” He coughed and started shivering. “I’m so cold. Hold me Gen, hold me please! I’m so scared.”
She kissed his forehead. “Don’t be. I’m right here.”
“I do love you.”
“And I will always love you,” she said. She held him as he died. Jonathan touched her shoulder. “We have to go.”
She kissed Randal’s head once more. “Be at peace, brother.” She got up. They left the chaotic room. Jonathan got to the car. “We need to get away.”
She looked at him and then back to the hotel. “They’re all infected.”
“Let’s leave.”
“No. I can’t.” She disappeared. He was going to follow her, but she came right back with a big metal can. She went to the entrance and splashed some gas around it and along the walls. She lit a match. “May this be the end. Forgive me God.” She tossed it, lighting the gas. She ran over to the car and got in. They drove off, and she turned watching the flames creep up the hotel walls. “Here,” Jonathan said passing her the book Rachel had had. She opened it to see her and Randal smiling at the camera. They had to have been three. They looked so alike, like most identical twins. She held the book to her chest and cried. Cried for her mother she had never met, her dead father, and now for her lost brother. Brian reached over the seat and touched her shoulder. “Genesis, everything will be okay when we get to California.”
“Yeah.”
ტტტტტტტტ
Rachel escaped from the burning building with some of her men. Dominus was wrong. She was pregnant. That bitch had ruined it for her. She would find her, even if she had to follow her around the world. She would kill that human. She swore on the life of her child. “Get a car started. We have some hunting to do.”
